We are a small, family farm located in the center of Belchertown and within a 5 minute walk to the Town common. On 8 acres, our focus is directed toward the fruit orchard. We have 25 varieties of apples as well as peaches, pears, nectarines, plums and blueberries. In addition to the orchard, we have several bee hives, a sugar bush, some annuals, goats and chickens. Our family helps with some work and marketing. Integrated Pest Management (IPM), low spray and no spray are practiced on our various crops.
The orchard was established sometime in the 1940’s by Harold Peck, who successfully operated it until the early 1970’s. The orchard was then purchased by Arlan Skinner and his wife, Clara, and managed by them until 1985 when we purchased the property. About 15 years later we were able to begin in earnest, the rejuvenation of the old orchard. Over the past years nearly 200 new trees have been planted and we market our fruit at local farmer’s markets as well as from the farm during picking season.
